
Rubber Match Between SFA and CBU to be Played in the Semifinals

LAS VEGAS--- The California Baptist women's basketball team has reached the WAC semifinals for the third straight season and will face the top-seeded Stephen F. Austin Lady Jacks. These two teams split the season series, with both winning on each other's home floors.
The Lady Jacks defeated CBU in early January 79-64 with a big fourth quarter and a sizable advantage on the glass. The Lancers got even by winning 82-74 at the Sawmill in Nacogdoches on January 28th. The win marked the second time SFA had lost multiple home conference games in the same season and the first time they had lost multiple conference games.
The Lancers and Lady Jacks earned first-round byes and opened with quarterfinal victories. SFA defeated Sam Houston 74-59 with an overwhelming advantage in the second half led by Jordan Harrison and Aiyana Johnson. CBU pulled out a comeback victory over Utah Tech in their opening matchup 81-72 after a 25-10 advantage in the third quarter. Sila Finau, Chloe Webb, and Grace Schmidt all scored in double-figures, led by a 14-point fourth quarter by Finau.
Head coach Jarrod Olsen shared his thoughts on the matchup with SFA,
"Great team. Great coach. Great Players. They beat us at our place, and we went down and beat them at their place. I think it will be two really good teams, and I know they're going to be ready for us, but we will be ready.
This semifinal matchup is set for Friday, March 10th, at noon in the Orleans Arena.
