The first match of the week for CBU will be against Tarleton, who is also 2-0 in conference and is one of three teams in the WAC with double-digit wins on the year with 11. The Texans defeated Utah Valley and Seattle U at home this past week and are currently riding a six-match winning streak. CBU and Tarleton have matched up four previous times, with the Lancers claiming victory on three of those. However, the Texans got the victory in Stephenville last season in four sets.
The final matchup of the week will be against Abilene Christian on Saturday. The Wildcats split their conference opening weekend with a sweep of Seattle U and a five-set defeat at the hands of Utah Valley in Abilene. Last season was the first time these two programs have matched up, and the Lancers came away with a pair of wins in four and five sets, respectively.
Statistically, the Lancers are led by Michalina Rola and Catherine Krieger, who have each registered over 150 kills early in the season. The setter rotation of Leah Pease and Reese Reed have combined for 492 assists, including 79 this past week to open conference play. The return of libero Brianna Young to the lineup gave a welcome boost to the Lancer defense as Young registered a new career-high and season-high in digs against Southern Utah with 24.
