LAS VEGAS, NV --- Postseason basketball has arrived, as the 2026 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament tips off on Wednesday from The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Drawing the second seed after a 13-5 conference record, the Lancers are poised to punch their ticket and join the madness that is the month of March.
Highlighting the start of conference championship week was the announcement of the All-WAC teams on Tuesday. Guard Dominique Daniels Jr. was voted the 2026 WAC Player of the Year. Martel Williams was named All-Conference Second-Team, and Jordan Muller was added to the All-Freshman Team.
CBU wrapped up the regular season with a 23-8 record, establishing the most victories in the program's Division I history. The Lancers went a perfect 15-0 at home and finished as the regular-season runner-up of the WAC.
The Lancers had a chance to clinch a share of the WAC regular season championship last week, but needed a Utah Valley loss in the final week to do so. UVU wrapped up the outright conference championship and the top seed in the conference tournament with road wins at Southern Utah and Utah Tech.
Seven teams will set up shop in Las Vegas this week, as the single-elimination tournament begins on Wednesday with the bottom two seeds squaring off. Abilene Christian enters as the sixth seed and takes on seventh seeded Tarleton State. The winner advances to Thursday to play the three-seed, Utah Tech.
CBU will have eyes on that game as the winner advances to the semifinals on Friday to play the Lancers.
The Lancers are a combined 7-2 against their three potential semifinal opponents. CBU went 3-0 against Abilene Christian, earning two wins in Riverside, including a dominating 87-48 showing on Senior Night. Both Utah Tech and Tarleton State lost in their two trips to Riverside but grabbed wins over the Lancers when CBU hit the road.
CBU went 7-7 in true road games and added a 1-1 mark on neutral floors.
On the opposite side of the bracket, Utah Valley awaits the winner of Thursday's game between UT Arlington and Southern Utah. Utah Valley's semifinal game is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. (PT).
With their second-place finish in the regular season, the Lancers earned an automatic berth in the semifinals. The second seed is the highest seeding in program history. CBU has reached the semifinals two seasons in a row.
CBU will tip off its semifinal game on Friday at 8:30 p.m. (PT), and it will air on ESPN+.
A win on Friday sends the Lancers to the WAC Championship Game for the first time in program history. The winner of the conference championship game will punch their ticket to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, better known as March Madness.
The WAC Championship Game is slated for Saturday at 9 p.m. (PT) and will be televised on ESPN2. The NCAA will reveal the 2026 bracket during a selection show on Sunday at 3 p.m. (PT).
