WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SET FOR NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004) -- The CBU women's volleyball will make its first appearance at the NAIA Championships since 1999, as the field has been set for the upcoming tournament, which will be held in San Diego at Point Loma Nazarene from Dec. 1-4.
CBU, the tournament's #6 seed, is in pool C along with #3 Columbia (MO), Union (TN), Houston Baptist (TX) and Savannah Art & Design (GA). The Lancers qualified the tournament through an at-large bid by finishing second at last weekend's Region II Tournament.
CBU plays Houston Baptist on Wednesday (Dec. 1) at 11:15 a.m., then has a doubleheader on Thursday (Dec. 2) with Savannah Art & Design at 9 a.m. and Union at 6 p.m. The Lancers end pool play on Friday (Dec. 3) against Columbia at 9 a.m. The tournament quarterfinals are on Friday evening, and the semifinals and final are on Saturday (Dec. 4).
The Lancers are in the midst of one of their best seasons in school history. At 30-5, it's only the second time a Lancer team has reached the 30-win plateau.
