The loss is the Lancers' sixth straight as they drop to 1-6 overall. LMU improves to 4-3.
The Lions outshot the Lancers, 12-8 and struck first in the 17th minute when Jay Singh converted a free kick from 25 yards out. His low liner skimmed the ground and beat Lancer keeper Josh Blanco to the far post.
LMU then doubled its advantage in the 34th minute when David Niemeyer headed in a service from Pasquale Murillo to beat Blanco and give the Lions a 2-0 lead.
CBU got on the board and cut the deficit in half in the 76th minute when Houtan Malayeri converted a penalty kick, beating Lion keeper Miguel Benitez. The Lancers, though, could muster another shot on the goal the rest of the way.
Casey Pradmore, who replaced Blanco after the intermission, collected a quartet of saves.
