Her second-straight selection to the All-GSAC team made her the fifth player in school history to earn all-conference honors in consecutive seasons, and the first since Angela Romagnoli (2002, '03)?also the last to earn All-American status.
“Nicole is well deserving of this honor,” said California Baptist head coach Steve Sain. “She was a leader on this team throughout the season and was key to our success and growth as a program. It's exciting to know she'll be back for another 2 years. With her returning, it's within our grasp to make it to the NAIA National Tournament even as early as next year.”
Over the season, Davis was twice named GSAC Player of the Week?the first time since Romagnoli's 3 selections in 2003 that a Lancer has earned multiple weekly awards in a single campaign?and was third in the GSAC with an average of 20.8 points per game.
In California Baptist's 4-game winning streak to finish out the regular season,
Davis, who scored 31 points in the win over the Cougars, had another big night, with 13 points, 8 assists and 4 steals as the Lancers put a halt to a 5-game losing streak that nearly knocked them out of the playoffs, with a, 59-55, win over The Master's Feb. 15.
Her 26 points, 9 assists and 4 steals helped the Lancers beat San Diego Christian Feb. 20, and she scored 16 points while dealing out 10 assists to help California Baptist to a, 79-71, victory over Concordia Feb. 26.
The 2007 Lancers went 17-13, including a 9-11 GSAC record, their best campaign since 1992, when they finished with 19 wins and a 9-11 mark in conference play. California Baptist also posted a winning percentage of better than .500 for the first time since the 1992 season.
