PHOENIX, Ariz. --- California Baptist, ranked No. 9 in the NAIA, shot a school-record tying 305 in the final round to win the Grand Canyon (Ariz.) Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
The Lancers finished with a tournament-best 615, which also matches a school-record, in winning their third tournament this year. The other two school-record performances of 305 and 615 both came at the season-opening Grand Canyon Fall Invitational Sept. 24-25.
The Lancers were tied for second in the 18-team field after yesterday's opening round but were just three strokes off the pace. All four golfers who scores counted today finished with sub-80 totals today.
Adriana Niclotti followed up yesterday's 76 with a 73 today to finish in third place with a 149. Her final round 73 was the second-lowest individual score of the day. She finished just two strokes off the lead.
Malin Thorberg also earned a top five finish after finishing with a 151 (76-75). Caroline Holmblad was 12th with a 154 (76-78).
Shauna Curtis (82-79) was in the 38th place with a 161, and Samantha Katz rounded out the Lancers with a 164 (84-80).
