SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — California Baptist University needed just one game to rebound from its worst loss of the year with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-12) blowout over The Master's Tuesday night.
Ingrid Carmona and Fei Shi combined for 25 of the Lancers' (24-3, 14-3 GSAC) 42 kills as CBU hit over .300 for the eighth time this year. Carmona had 13 kills and two aces while Shi had 12 kills and was just two digs shy of a double-double with eight. Krista Hasemeyer had a match-high 21 assists while Danielle Sargant had 12.
Jessica Kalama, Noelle Dyk and Katie Lockard all tied for a team-high eight digs along with Shi. Bree Rauschenbach also had a match-high four blocks
The Lancers hit .330 (42-11-94) compared to just a .125 clip from the Mustangs. The Lancers also had 48 digs and seven blocks compared to TMC's 33 digs and four blocks.
CBU just trailed three times the whole match and all three were early in the second and third sets.
It's now a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2 as undefeated and top-ranked Fresno Pacific comes to Van Dyne Gym. The Lancers haven't knocked off the two-time defending champions since 2006. First serve is set for Saturday at 3 p.m.
