RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. --- The NAIA's No. 2-ranked California Baptist University had four rounds of 75 or better and defeated NCAA Division III Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 294-353, in a dual match Monday afternoon.
The match was played at Empire Lakes in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., which hosts an annual Nationwide Tour event.
Shauna Curtis led all players with a 72. Adriana Niclotti fired a 73. Samantha Katz finished with a 74. All-American Malin Thorberg tallied a 75, and Jessica Williams had a 76.
“The girls continue to get better each round,” said CBU Head Coach Lane Pace. “They are learning to play within themselves and the scores are getting better and better. This course has hosted professional events, so it is challenging. This was just another step in preparing for nationals.”
