The win, which is the Lancers' second straight on the road, moves the defending PacWest Champion Lancers to 4-1-1 overall, 2-0 (6 points) PacWest.
The loss is the Hawks' first of the season as they fall to 3-1-1, 1-1 (3 points).
Though the Lancers were outshot 17-16, including a 13-8 margin in the second half, Oliver's first career strike off an assist from Jonathan Garcia was all they needed. The Lancers dominated the first half of play, out-shooting the Hawks 8-4.
"The first half was probably our best 45 minutes we've played this year," said CBU Head Coach Ryan Jorden. "We didn't lack for chances in the second half, but we just couldn't put another one away and as a result we let them hang around. Still, to get a pair of wins on this trip is big. We played two very good teams."
Pacheco, meanwhile, nabbed three saves for his third shutout of the season and his 13th career clean sheet, which sets a program record for career shutouts. Pacheco passed former Lancer keeper and current assistant coach Jeff Redinger in the process.
"Joey made some big saves to preserve the shutout, and he played an important role in this win," said Jorden. "I'm happy he was able to get the record. He's worked really hard with Jeff this year, and to have the success is great for him."
