LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Coming off straight sweeps in non-conference action, California Baptist University expects to have its lineup back to full strength for the first time in a month. It will be in perfect time, as the Lancers begin their second-half run through the MPSF with its second match with UC San Diego.
SERIES NOTES
CBU has an 19-8 edge in its series with UC San Diego, with the Lancers playing the Tritons more than anyone else in the MPSF. CBU swept its first match with UCSD in the Van Dyne Gym in late January, behind a 16-block performance from Enrique de Diego Garcia, which set a three-set match record for the Lancers. Last year, the two teams split the series, with both teams winning in their home gyms. With a victory tonight, CBU can win its third match in four tries over the Tritons this week.
