Chee Leads Lancers at Little Rock Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE --- California Baptist University finished the second round of the Little Rock Golf Classic on Monday, as the Lancers mirrored their first-round score to sit in fourth out of 17 teams.
The Lancers managed to shoot the exact same team score as they did in the first round with a 5-over-par 293. The back-to-back 293's dropped the Lancers down two spots, as Bradley jumped to second and UTEP claimed third. Western Kentucky still holds the top spot after shooting a 291-286=577 team score.
Jocelyn Chee kept a clean scorecard on the day, as the junior put together a bogey-free round to take fifth. Chee managed to grab 17 pars on the day and one birdie on hole six to match her first-round score of a 1-under-par 71. Chee now has five birdies after two days of competition.
Sofia Chabon and Kristyna Abrahamova went into the clubhouse T-19th with a 4-over-par 148. Chabon shot back-to-back 74's, while Abrahamova signed a 73-75.
Samantha Martirez did the most moving on moving day for the Lancers, carding a 1-over-par 73 to jump up 20 spots. Martirez is currently T-30th after shooting an opening-round 4-over-par 76. Belle Balkan shot a 75-80=155 and is currently T-70th.
Valeria Mendizabal of UTEP claimed the top spot after day two, shooting a 7-under-par 65 to lead the field by four strokes.
CBU will close out the final round of the Little Rock Golf Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 29, with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
