LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Both California Baptist University seniors in the lineup finished their collegiate careers in a big way at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.
All five Lancers finished in the top-25 individually in their debut at the WAC Championships, while seniors Yifei "Sunny" Wang and Erica Wang both finished in the top 12 at the Oakbrook Golf Club. While CBU was unable to register a team score, its 12-over par total in the third and final round would have tied Grand Canyon for the best round of the day.
NM State won the team championship on a playoff. Seattle U tied NM State at the end of 54 holes with an 885 to finish second, while Utah Valley (888) rounded out the top three. The Aggies' Dominique Galloway won the individual title with a 214 (69-73-72),
Yifei carded CBU's first par-or-better round of the week on Saturday, shooting even 71 with four birdies in the third round. It moved her six spots up the leaderboard to a 10th-place finish with a 222 (74-77-71), as her collegiate career came to a close. She finished the round extremely well, playing her final five holes three-under.
Erica enjoyed the biggest move up the board of any Lancer on Saturday, as she climbed nine spots to a 12th-place tie with a 224 (77-75-72). The senior finished one-over-par 72 with the help of three birdies. She played her final seven holes even par.
Samantha Martirez shot 75 on Saturday to move two spots up the leaderboard to a 19th-place tie with a 227 (78-74-75). She bogeyed five times, but used a birdie at 15 to play her final four holes just one over.
Kristyna Abrahamova finished in a 21st-place tie for CBU with a 228 (71-79-78). She played her final six holes one-over par to complete a 78 in the third round. Jocelyn Chee tied for 24th with a 230 (77-75-78) and ended the event with a 78, as well, by playing her final four holes just one over.
The Lancers have big shoes to fill in their three seniors this year: Sharon Oh, Erica Wang and Yifei Wang. Erica's four individual wins are an NCAA-era record, while she holds the CBU record for rounds played, rounds of par or better and career scoring average. Yifei made a big impact in the last year-and-a-half at CBU and was also a key part to the Lancers' runner-up finish in Division II last season.

Erica finished her round with a solid par to end the day at +1. Her final round at the collegiate level. Family and friends followed her during the tournament and greeted her with hugs as she walked off the 18th green today. Special moment. Thank you for following along. pic.twitter.com/swCB37Im3v
