RIVERSIDE -- A newcomer joined California Baptist University for the spring season, as setter Leah Pease transferred in from Valparaiso University.
This fall, Pease spent her freshman season at Valpo. The 5-foot-7 setter played in 18 matches and logged 183 assists, 77 digs and eight aces on the year. She posted two double-doubles, with her best performance coming when she recorded 30 assists and 15 digs at Kent State on Sept. 6.
Before Valpo, Pease was named a Fab 50 Player by Prep Volleyball and was a four-year starter and record setter at Marin Catholic in Kentfield, Calif. She graduated as the school's record holder for all-time assists, assists per set (11.1) and single-season assists (1,200).
The Petaluma, Calif. native led the Wildcats to 132 wins in her career, including a run to the California State Championship as a senior. Marin Catholic won four section and three Marin County League (MCL) titles with Pease on the roster, which led to her twice being voted an All-MCL first teamer.
In club, Pease played for Absolute Volleyball Club, a team she helped qualify for USAV Junior Nationals five years in a row and to top-six finishes in the National Division in 2017 and 2018. She received all-tournament team honors in 2017.
