KANSAS CITY – California Baptist closed out its Midwest road trip in Kansas City, but it was the Roos who came out with the 75-65 win. After today's result, the Lancers sit at 9-11 on the season and 1-5 in the WAC.
Senior Lexy Ram led her Lancers the whole way with 17 points and 12 rebounds, securing her third double-double of the season.
Sydney Palma and Delacy Brown joined Ram in the double-digit scoring column with 11 and 10, respectively.
CBU kept turnovers down to just nine while forcing Kansas City into 12, which directly led to 28 Lancer points. But The Roos used 23 offensive rebounds to balance the scales with 28 second-chance points.
Trailing by as many as 17 in the final quarter, the Lancers fought back to make it a six-point game with a little over 30 seconds left, but CBU could not complete the comeback as the Roos would sink all four of their free throws to end the game.
The Lancers return home to host Utah Valley on Wednesday the 29th for their second Education Day game of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and can be caught at the CBU Events enter or live streamed through ESPN+.
