RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University will make its home Western Athletic Conference debut this week when CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon visit Riverside. The Lancers went a combined 3-1 against the Roadrunners and Lopes a season ago.
Delacy Brown comes in leading the team in scoring in WAC play, with 13 points-per game in conference. Tiena Afu and Georgia Dale are both averaging nine rebounds per game for the Lancers, who are looking to get to .500 on early in conference after dropping their WAC openers against New Mexico State and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
CSU Bakersfield and Grand Canyon faced off last week, with the Roadrunners winning a tight one in Phoenix, 59-54.
Last season, the Lancers swept their series with the Roadrunners and won each game by over 20 points. CSUB is a different team this season, though, and is on top of the WAC with the league's only winning record at the moment and as winners of seven of its last nine.
CBU and GCU split last season's contests with each team winning at home.
