The Lancers logged their first all-conference finish of the week by taking third in the 200-yard medley relay to highlight Wednesday's action at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.
CBU ends the first day of competition in fourth place with 83 points, which is a spot above where it was projected to finish at the WAC Championships this week in the preseason poll of the conference coaches. Air Force is in first place with 121 points, while Grand Canyon (91) and UNLV (85) are not far in front of the Lancers.
Jacob Leahy, Sean Foster, Josh Walters and Matthew Niculae secured a bronze-medal finish for CBU in the 200-medley relay, with a program-record time of one minute, 26.89 seconds. It's the Lancers' second all-conference finish in the event in as many years after they finished runner-up in 2019 in what was then a record time of 1:27.65.
