RIVERSIDE – Former California Baptist University standouts Tyson Miller and Trevor Oaks have joined the Summer Camps of their respective Major League Baseball squads leading into the pandemic-shortened regular season set to start on Thursday.
"I'm excited for Tyson and Trevor to be competing at the MLB Summer Camps," said CBU head baseball coach Gary Adcock. "They both were remarkable while at CBU, and have worked so hard for the opportunities in front of them. We wish them well as they pursue their Big League dreams while representing the Lancer baseball program."
Miller, a right-handed pitcher, was officially added to the Chicago Cubs' 60-Man Player Pool for Summer Camp on July 16. He is currently listed as a Top 30 prospect within the Cubs organization and earned a spot on the Cubs' 40-Man Roster this past November. Miller was selected by the Cubs in the fourth-round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Oaks, a right-handed pitcher as well, was listed on the San Francisco Giants' 60-Man Player Pool for Summer Camp on June 29. During 2020 Spring Training, he recorded five strikeouts in five scoreless innings of work in three games for the Giants.
