ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Day one of the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swim Championships was a quick one, as the teams had just two events to focus on. The relay teams took on the 200-yard medley and the 800-yard freestyle relays to open action at Dixie State's Human Performance Center Pool.
The medley relay led off the action with the Lancers taking on the challenge in lane number seven. Lauren Mckenna, Faith Brazil, Vianka Hoyer and Hanna Houlton would represent the Lancers in the race and finish sixth out of eight teams, besting Idaho and Seattle and clocking in at one minute, 44.58 seconds.
The 800-free relay saw CBU going in lane six. The race would finish in its seeding order as CBU again claimed sixth place out of the eight teams, as Isabella Rhodes, Lydia Bartlett, Buse Topcu and Rebecca Oviedo combined to touch the wall in a time of 7:36.29.
Action will pick up early on Thursday as the morning session will see the 500 free, 200 individual medley, and 50 free prelims streamed on Facebook Live. The finals round on Thursday night will highlight those same three races with the addition of the 200 free relay beginning at 5 p.m. PST on ESPN+ or following along with Live Stats.
