Women’s Swim Opens WAC Championships in St. George, Utah

ST. GEORGE – California Baptist University women's swim will kick off two weeks of Western Athletic Conference Championship action this week at Dixie State.
Unlike years past where the WAC has held a combined men's and women's swim and dive championship event, this year's circumstances have moved the conference to spilt it into three sections at separate locations. Women's swimming will start all the action on Wednesday morning, as the eight participating schools converge in St. George, Utah to battle it out.
The WAC released its annual Pre-Championship Coaches Poll that showed Northern Arizona as the favorites to take home the team title with 46 total points and five first-place votes. The Lancers were picked second with 39 points and a pair of first-place votes. Northern Colorado came in a very close third with 38 points and the final first place vote. New Mexico State (31), Grand Canyon (26), Idaho (23), Dixie State (14) and Seattle U (7) rounded out the poll in order.
