Volleyball Peaking at the Right Time Heading Into Postseason

RIVERSIDE - California Baptist University volleyball ended the regular season on a high note as it defeated Seattle U, 3-0, on Senior Day in Western Athletic Conference action at Van Dyne Gym on Saturday afternoon.
With today's sweep, it was the fifth time this season that the Lancers have blanked their opponent. It was fitting that on Senior Day that the dominant performance by CBU was in large part led by the seniors. At today's match, Scherine Dahoue, Cassidy Dennison, Chandler Gorman, Christine Graf and Paige Johnstone were recognized for their contributions to the program in their final home match at CBU.
Dahoue had a game-high nine kills and a block, while Gorman registered four kills, three aces and a block, and Graf contributed with six kills, a block and a dig. Johnstone had eight digs, five assists and four aces, and Dennison clocked in with four digs, two aces and a kill.
CBU had a season-high 13 aces during the match, tying the program's NCAA Division I era record as the only other time CBU had 13 service aces was against Utah Valley on Nov. 16, 2019. CBU joined the DI ranks in 2018.
CBU will enter the WAC Tournament as the #7 seed and will face #2 seed Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.

The Lancers now look to postseason with the upcoming WAC Tournament to be hosted by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Nov. 17-19 at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in Edinburg. CBU completed the regular season with a 12-13 overall record and 7-7, winning four of the last five matches of the season.
