Lancers Fall Short in Double Overtime

RIVERSIDE--- The Lancer women's basketball team battled the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks for 50 minutes in a double-overtime thriller in Riverside. Overall, there were 11 lead changes and was tied six times before the Lumberjacks were able to close out the Lancers 110-104.
The Lancers trailed much of the game before making a furious comeback to send the game to overtime. CBU trailed by 14 points with 7:55 left in the fourth quarter but ended regulation on a 19-4 run to send the game to the first overtime.
Junior Chloe Webb came through with her best game as a Lancer with 25 points (one shy of her collegiate career-high as an Anteater), six rebounds, and four steals which fueled the Lancer comeback in the second half. Webb scored 19 points in the second half and overtime, with her teammate Trinity San Antonio scoring 13 of her 22 points in the second half.
CBU controlled the offensive glass 20-10 and scored 62 points in the paint, nearly double the amount recorded by the Lumberjacks. Freshman Grace Schmidt had career-highs across the board with 13 points and six rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
The Lancers will remain at home an will next host Santa Clara on Saturday, November 19, at 1 p.m.
