
CBU Cross Country Named to USTFCCA All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS --- The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its 2022 NCAA Division I All-Academic Teams, with both the men and women from California Baptist University earning a spot. Both teams have now made the list all five years they have been a Division I program.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
The men clocked in with a 3.383 cumulative GPA, their second-highest total since the transition into Division I, while the women had a cumulative GPA of 3.58.
The USTFCCA also recognized three individual runners for All-Academic distinctions. To qualify for All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
The men had two runners acknowledged, with Florian Le Pallec and Giedrius Valincius earning the distinction. Yasna Petrova from the women's team made the list, posting a 4.0 GPA.
