Swim and Dive Handles Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Friday Home Dual

RIVERSIDE -Â California Baptist University swim and dive teams rang in the new year with wins over Division III powerhouse Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday at the Lancer Aquatics Center. The women earned the victory 131-112, while the men posted a nearly identical winning total of 129-113.

The women claimed a relay win and seven individual victories against the Athenas. Naya Koc led the women's side with a pair of individual wins while contributing to the 500 freestyle relay win. Guilia Decataldo, Martha Aguilar, Mia Maspers, Madison Liu, and Audrey Easter all won at least one event on the day.

The men took both relays on the day and added another six event wins against the Stags. Remi Fabiani and Evan Honer each claimed a pair of individual wins in the pool and boards, respectively, with Fabiani adding to the 500 free relay victory. Mark Kovacsics and Luke Altmann also won on their own, with Altmann helping claim wins in the relay races for the men.

CBU swim and dive must rest up quickly as they prepare for hosting duties again tomorrow. The Lancers will host Incarnate Word, USD (women only), and LMU (women only) on Saturday, which will act as the team's Senior Day. Festivities will begin at 10:40 a.m., with the meet scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start.
