RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist STUNT team is set to embark on their fourth season as a program after winning their third National Championship last season against Kentucky in the Fowler Events Center. The Lancers are set to kick off their season in Phoenix, Arizona, and will end the year in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Division I STUNT National Championship.
"As we approach the new season, there's a quiet determination," remarks Head Coach Brandon Seagondollar. "Our seasoned seniors, exemplifying the grit and heart of this team, are ready to guide us through the battles ahead. Alongside them, our incoming rookies are bringing a hunger and intensity that's raising the bar in every practice and game. This year's team is pulling together and trying to find the toughness to push us to the next level."
After beginning their season at the Arizona State STUNT Tournament (February 2nd-3rd), CBU will then head to the Dallas Baptist Tournament (February 15th-17th), where they will face Texas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Baptist, and first-year STUNT competitors Central Arkansas. Following their visit to Dallas, the Lancers will head to Orange County to compete in the Hope International STUNT Tournament for back-to-back games on February 23rd.
The first home game of the season will be against the Hope International Royals on Wednesday, February 28th, in the Van Dyne Gym before the Lancers head to Rocklin, California, for the William Jessup STUNT Tournament (March 2nd). Seagondollar's team will also compete in the Tennessee Nazarene University STUNT Tournament (March 15th-17th), facing off against Ashland University, UT Martin, Central Arkansas, and Kentucky.
The Lancers will host their own tournament from March 22nd to 23rd in the Fowler Events Center. The Joust will host Cal Poly, Arizona State, Hope International, and Kentucky for the third year. CBU will close out the season with a pair of home matches against Vanguard University and Concordia Irvine before heading to face Kentucky in the Division I STUNT National Championships in mid-April.
"Having the privilege to host the Joust is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our program. It's a chance to showcase the collective spirit and dedication that defines us," says Seagondollar.
