RIVERSIDE - After ten years helping guide California Baptist University women's basketball, Associate Head Coach Angie Ned has accepted the head coach position at CSUN.
"Angie Ned is a first-class coach, person, and role model. She has played a large part in our success over the past 10 years," said CBU Head Coach Jarrod Olson. "We will miss her competitive fire and her unwavering integrity, and I will miss coaching with her and seeing her every day. On behalf of our fans, staff, and players, thank you for making us better. We are all very proud of you."
Ned has been a part of guiding the Lancers to multiple Division II conference and national tournament appearances, a pair of Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships, a historic 26-1 season in 2020-21, an appearance in the WNIT quarterfinals, and the programs first ever Division I NCAA Tournament berth this past season.
"Coach Ned has been a Lancer for over a decade and has been a big part of our success in women's basketball. She is ready for this next challenge in her career, and we are excited that she has earned this opportunity. "
Ned returns to a familiar Big West Conference she competed in during her collegiate career. As an Anteater at UC Irvine, Ned was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and three-time All-Big West selection, earning First Team distinction after her junior year. Ned now prepares to turn around a Matador program that went 3-27 last season.
