
Greta Karinauskaite is Named the 2024 Joe Kearney Award Winner

ARLINGTON, TX--- The Western Athletic Conference released its 2024 Joe Kearney Award winners on Monday morning, with Greta Karinauskaite of California Baptist University track becoming the second Lancer athlete to be honored since CBU joined the conference in 2018.
The Joe Kearney Award is given to the top male and female student-athletes in the conference during the course of an athletic year. Karinauskaite lived up to the billing with an incredible senior year to end her CBU career with multiple All-American honors and accolades.
During the 2023-24 season, Karinauskaite was a 2x All-American, earning one in cross-country season and another in Outdoor season. She was also the 2024 WAC Track Athlete of the Year, WAC Steeplechase Champion, and the WAC Cross-Country Individual Champion. She also made history for the Lancers, becoming the first All-American in program history, the first to earn multiple National bids, and set the program record for the women's 6K at 19:12.4.
Karinauskaite was the fourth-place finisher at the 2024 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in the Women's Steeplechase in Eugene, Oregon, with a time of 9:35.56. She was also the top finisher in the West Region in the steeplechase with a time of 9:40.22. She was the fourth-ranked athlete in the event in the country and had a season-best time of 9:37.31 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
