LITTLE ROCK, AK--- The California Baptist women's golf program finished its fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon in the Midwest, posting a ninth-place finish against 18 programs. Lisa Shimmon had the best individual finish for the Lancers after ending the week in 18th place. The final tournament of 2025 for CBU marks the squad's fourth top-10 team finish this season.
Shimmon came out swinging from the first round and posted her lowest score of the tournament on Sunday, shooting a 69 to pace the Lancers. Pusanisa Ekkantrong was not far behind after finishing 1-under to push CBU to an even score as a team through the first 18 holes. The Lancers struggled as a squad on Monday and fell behind in the standings after shooting 17-over with Shimmon still pacing the team at 74.
The final round of the tournament was a big turnaround for CBU after four Lancers shot under par to keep themselves in the top-10 of the tournament standings. Shimmon and Sam Dizon both scored 70, while Ekkantrong and Nana Ishikawa posted 71 to finish their time in the Midwest. Individually, Dizon finished in 31st, Ekkantrong secured 39th, Shuy Cao placed 58th, while Ishikawa rounded out the team with 70th place.
Shimmon posted the third most pars individually at 42, while Ekkantrong recorded 12 birdies to lead the Lancers. The week in Arkansas rounds out CBU's fall schedule, and the Lancers will now turn their attention to their championship season in the spring, beginning with the infamous SoCal Ryder Cup in January.
