VB Preview: CBU Heads to Orem for Penultimate Road Contest

RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University volleyball team will embark on its penultimate conference road trip this Saturday as it takes a solo trip to Orem to take on the Utah Valley Wolverines.
The Wolverines sit atop the Western Athletic Conference standings currently at 6-1, with their only loss coming early in the schedule at Utah Tech on the road. The Lancers sit at 2-6 in 6th place in the standings as they attempt to move up the ladder as the conference tournament nears.
UVU bested CBU in the earlier matchup this season in Riverside, winning convincingly in three sets at Van Dyne Gym. The Lancers, as they have all season, were without some key figures in that match as neither Jordyn Waite-Ward nor Bella Breuer suited up. Waite-Ward will still be out for this matchup; however, Breuer made her return last week on the road trip to Texas.
Overall, CBU still holds the series edge in this matchup, 7-6, despite losing each of the last two matchups. Historically, the Lancers have not fared well in Orem, with their last win coming back in 2019 and only having two total wins at Lockhart Arena.
