12/10/2025 2:00:00 PM | Men's Basketball
CHENEY, WA --- The sixth game of a six-game stretch away from Riverside has arrived, as the Lancers will hit the road once again this week. After games in Palm Desert, Corvallis, Boulder, and Salt Lake City, CBU will tack on miles once again as they visit Cheney on Friday to take on Eastern Washington.
The Lancers are 2-3 during the first five games of this road stint, but have fallen on hard times, losing their last three. CBU opened the trip with a win over San Diego in the Acrisure Series and then took down Oregon State on the road.
Friday's visit to Cheney will be the first in program history, as the only other meeting between CBU and EWU came last season in the Fowler Events Center. The Lancers won that game, 79-68, behind 15-point performances from Dominique Daniels Jr. and Martel Williams.
Daniels Jr. is coming off his first Division I double-double in Utah, as the graduate guard paired 31 points with 11 rebounds. Thomas Ndong also picked up his first double-double behind 14 points and 11 boards.
The Lancers lost that game in Salt Lake City, 91-85, wrapping up a stretch of four games in eight days. The loss moved the Lancers to 7-3 through their first ten games, as three games remain before the start of the WAC schedule.
Eastern Washington was victorious in their last game, 90-66, against Kansas City on Saturday. The win was the second for the Eagles this season, as they enter Friday night with a 2-7 overall record. EWU's other victory was a 91-73 final against NAIA program Eastern Oregon.
The Eagles are led on the offensive end by Isaiah Moses with 18.6 PPG. Kiree Huie and Alton Hamilton IV are next with 10.6 PPG each.
Daniels Jr. continues to lead the Lancers in scoring with 19.3 PPG, followed by Williams at 15.0 PPG.
EWU comes into the game averaging 78.4 PPG, while opponents are scoring 83.2 PPG against them. The Eagles post a rebound average of 33.8 RPG, outrebounding opponents by a narrow margin of 0.6 RPG. The Lancers, on the other hand, post the No. 21 rebound margin in all of Division I, outrebounding opponents by over ten boards per game.
Saturday's loss in Utah marked the first time this season the Lancers outrebounded their opponent and lost.
Friday's game in Cheney is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be the final time CBU hits the floor on the road before the start of conference play. The Lancers will play two more non-conference games after Friday, as Southern and Sacramento State visit Riverside next week. The WAC schedule begins on December 29 with the Lancers returning to Utah to take on Utah Valley.
Tickets for the remaining non-conference home games are on sale HERE. Single-game tickets for conference games will go on sale December 15 at 9 a.m.
