12/5/2025 4:18:00 PM | Men's Basketball
SALT LAKE CITY, UT --- The end of the road is in sight, for now, as the Lancers will return to Riverside on Saturday night after a week on the road. CBU is still in Salt Lake City, following their game with BYU on Wednesday, as the Lancers prepare to take on the University of Utah on Saturday evening.
CBU's road trip began on Saturday with the Lancers beating Oregon State in Corvallis. The Lancers then traveled to Boulder, where they lost to Colorado on Monday. On Tuesday, the Lancers flew to Salt Lake City, where they lost to BYU inside the Delta Center on Wednesday.
A game against San Diego in Palm Desert preceded this road trip. The Lancers have not competed in the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center since November 21 and will not return to action in Riverside until December 16.
The Lancers are 7-2 to start the season, with the two losses following a program-best 7-0 start. Four games remain in CBU's non-conference schedule, with all coming against teams below the Lancers in the NET ratings.
CBU enters the weekend at No. 90 in the NET ratings, the second-best mark in the WAC behind only Utah Valley (84). Utah enters the weekend 6-3 overall and No. 163 in the latest NET.
The Utes are 5-1 on their home floor inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Utah's only home loss was a 92-85 defeat against a future conference rival of CBU, Cal Poly. Utah is coming off a loss in its last outing, a 79-72 final against Cal in Berkeley. Before their trip to Northern California, the Utes finished 1-1 in the Acrisure Series in Palm Desert. Utah beat Ole Miss 75-74, a day after they lost to Grand Canyon.
Terrence Brown leads the Utes with 21.0 PPG, doing so on a 44 percent showing from the field. Don McHenry is next on the offensive side with 17.0 PPG. Keanu Dawes (11.6) and Seydou Traore (10.7) are also finishing in double figures.
The Utes are averaging 80.3 PPG, outscoring opponents by an average of 2.3 PPG. The Lancers are outscoring opponents by 5.3 PPG, posting 73.1 PPG on the offensive end. CBU continues to be one of the best rebounding teams in the country, averaging 40.9 RPG. The Lancers' 9.6 rebounding margin ranks 35th best in the nation. Utah pulls down 37.7 boards a night.
CBU is 7-0 when winning the rebound battle.
Dominique Daniels Jr. remains the Lancers' leading scorer with 17.9 PPG. Martel Williams is closing in on that title, averaging 15.1 PPG. Jordan Muller is averaging 12.3 PPG in his four starts.
Saturday's meeting with the Utes is scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m. (PST) and will be aired live on ESPN+. Following Saturday's game, CBU will return to Riverside for almost a week before they hit the road again for a single game at Eastern Washington on Friday, December 12.
The Lancers will be back in Riverside on December 16 when Southern University comes to town. Tickets are on sale HERE.
