PALM DESERT, CA--- The California Baptist women's golf program continued on in their spring competition schedule this weekend in a stacked field within the Alice and John Wallace Classic hosted by Long Beach State. The Lancers finished tied for eighth out of 21 programs and surpassed #64 Grand Canyon, #67 Santa Clara, and #74 Cal Poly along the way.
Damini Law Ghanshyani had the best individual finish for the Lancers after she finished in the top 30, with her best round coming at the end of the tournament. The junior took the first round to gain her footing after scoring five strokes over par but responded well during her second set of 18 holes with a two-over par finish. Ghanshyani finished the final round even with par to finish in 27th of 150 golfers for her best finish of the spring slate. Freshman Lisa Shimmon also had a solid showing in the desert, staying within par by at least four strokes through all three rounds. Shimmon finished in 40th, just ahead of Pusanisa Ekkantrong in 44th.
Burberry Zhang ended her time on the course in 50th after her best round, which also came at the end of the tournament with a 72. Samantha Dizon was just behind with a 67th-place finish, and Diletta Facchini, playing individual, ended in 109th.
