LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ - The California Baptist women's golf program closed out 2024 – 2025 season on Wednesday afternoon during the final round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. The squad secured third place of nine programs after a stellar final day, redeeming a tough second round. Pusanisa Ekkantrong let the way for the Lancers with an 11th place finish after shooting six-over par.
The Lancers posted a final score of 292 during the third round for their best day of the tournament. True freshman Lisa Shimmon stepped up for her teammates on the final day and posted a 71 for her best individual round of the tournament. Ekkantrong ended her final day of her sophomore season with a three-over par to tie for 11th with a Seattle golfer. Just behind Ekkantrong was Damini Law Ghanshyani, who ended her tournament with a final day score of 73 tie for 13th overall. Burberry Zhang and Samantha Dizon finished in 23rd and 25, respectively.
As a team, CBU's final score of 292 was the third lowest round as a team at the WAC Tournament this year. Marc Machado led his team to three top-three and six top-five tournament finishes this season, while winning two tournaments as a squad. Both Ekkantrong and Dizon took home individual champion titles this season as well, rounding out another incredible year for the Lancers.
California Baptist will say goodbye to just one senior on the women's golf team in Diletta Facchini, who has exhausted eligibility.
