RIVERSIDE--- Maddie Brown continues collecting early-season accolades for the Lancers and has earned Western Athletic Conference Setter of the Week honors for the first time this season.
Brown is the first Lancer in the DI era to earn Setter of the Week honors. The redshirt junior missed all of 2024 with a knee injury but has come back in 2025 better than ever and has been a star for the Lancers over the opening three tournaments of action.
Brown has recorded 288 assists over the first nine matches and has been an offensive weapon as well, with nine kills and 11 aces from her setting position. On the defensive side, Brown's athleticism has been on full display with eight blocks, two of which are solos, and 84 digs. This past week at The Joust, Brown posted 131 assists over 12 sets in the tournament, had 37 digs, and posted double-doubles in all three matches for the Lancers. Her efforts earned her All-Tournament honors and helped CBU to a 2-1 record with wins over New Mexico and Cal State Fullerton.
Brown and the Lancers will hit the road this week as they head to San Luis Obispo to take on the SLO Classic beginning on Thursday, September 18, against #20 Utah.
