RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University released its 2026 Outdoor Track Schedule for the upcoming spring season with eight non-postseason events on the calendar.
The Lancers will look to keep up their run of distance success in 2026 after sending athletes to nationals each of the last four years they have been eligible.
The 2026 outdoor season for the Lancers will kick off on February 28 as they compete at the Rossi Relays hosted by Claremont Mudd-Scripps. The Lancers will then return to the Oxy Distance Carnival and the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival in March to compete in distance-only competitions. The infamous Stanford Invite will also be on the Lancers' schedule for 2026, taking place in Palo Alto, California, from April 3-4. CBU will also have a small contingent of competitors competing at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco on the same weekend.
CBU will also return to the Bryan Clay Invitational in mid-April, hosted by Azusa Pacific University, before turning its attention to the Payton Jordan Invite and the Steve Scott Invite on May 1. CBU will return to the Steve Scott Invite, hosted by UCI, for the first time since 2024, and will compete at the Payton Jordan Invite, hosted by Stanford, for the first time in program history.
The Lancers will then turn their attention to postseason competition, competing in their final WAC Championships in mid-May. UT Arlington will host the Championships for the second consecutive season in Arlington, Texas. The West Regionals will return to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in late May, before the University of Oregon hosts the Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at historic Hayward Field in June.
Head Coach Sean Smith will head up the program for his second season at the helm and will be taking a solid group of runners into the Lancers' final season as a member of the Western Athletic Conference before making the move to the Big West in 2026-27.
