Lancers Compete at the San Diego State Classic

SAN DIEGO, CA--- The California Baptist women's golf program opened its spring season this week at the San Diego State Classic, battling 12 squads to an 10th-place finish. Both Sam Dizon and Pusanisa Ekkantrong secured the lowest tournament rounds for California Baptist, tying for 32nd of 64 golfers.
Lisa Shimmon led the way through the first round of the SDSU Classic, shooting 1-over, and the second round was dominated by Kornchanok Triyakul, who shot an even 72. Both Dizon and Ekkantrong played very consistently throughout the two-day event after both shooting 4-over during the first round. The second round saw Ekkantrong shoot her lowest of the week with a 74, while Dizon secured a 74 during the third round.
Behind Dizon and Ekkantrong, Triyakul finished 43rd, and Shimmon ended in 54th. Abby Abarcas ended her time in San Diego in 56th.
CBU will now turn its attention to the Bruin Wave Invitational in Santa Clarita, California, at the end of the month.
