
Lancers Compete in Hawaii

KALAUAU, HI--- The California Baptist women's golf program finished 12th of 13 programs at the Dr. Donnis Thomson Invitational, hosted by Hawaii this week. Shuyi Cao posted the Lancers' best finish individually after shooting 9-over and securing a 32nd place of 78 golfers.
Lisa Shimmon took control of the first round for CBU after she shot her best round of the invitational at 72 on the par-71 course. Cao took the first round to learn the ropes of the course and posted a 76. The second round was the freshman's best of the week after she scored the only under-par 18-hole score at 70. Cao would finish the week with a 76 on the final round for the top 50 individual placement.
Samantha Dizon had her best round on Wednesday afternoon, firing a 75 to finish tied for 61st, while Lisa Shimmon ended the round 9-over for a 61st placement as well. Burberry Zhang finished in 60th for the Lancers, while Pusanisa Ekkantrong ended in 66th. Ekkantrong posted the most birdies during the tournament for the Lancers with four through the two-day invitational.
CBU will now turn its attention to mid-April for the Bobcat Desert Classic in Goodyear, Arizona.
