Cao Named WAC Golfer of the Week

RIVERSIDE--- The Western Athletic Conference announced the weekly women's golf awards on Friday afternoon and cited California Baptist's Shuyi Cao as this week's winner. This marks the first time CBU has won a weekly golf award this season, and the true freshman's first collegiate award.
Cao led the Lancers to a sixth-place finish of 11 programs this past week at the Fresno State Classic and placed seventh of 70 golfers at the tournament. She fired rounds of 72, 69, 76 (+1) for the tournament, while shooting -2 for her cumulative last 4 holes of the event. Cao ranked second in the tournament for birdies after totaling 11.
The Lancers will now gear up for their mid-March trip to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii.
