
CBU Finishes 6th at the Bobcat Desert Classic

GOODYEAR, AZ--- The California Baptist women's golf program logged a sixth-place finish at the Bobcat Desert Intercollegiate on Wednesday afternoon, as Pusanisa Ekkantrong secured the best individual finish for the Lancers with an eighth-place ranking. The tournament marks CBU's sixth top-10 finish as a squad this season.
Ekkantrong started the week strong and posted a 73 after her first trip through the 18 holes in Arizona before shooting her lowest round on the second day by going 3-under. Samantha Dizon also started getting the lay of the land during the second round and posted a 73, going on to shoot even with par on the third day.
It was Lisa Shimmon who shone during the final round, shooting 2-under and finishing 12th overall in the tournament. Dizon ended her week with an 11th-place finish, as Kornchanok Triyakul finished with a 71 on the final day and secured 30th. Shuyi Cao shot a 75 during round three and ended in 46th place, as Burberry Zhang secured 64th. Shimmon came in second overall at the tournament with an average of 2.83 on Par 3 holes, while Ekkantrong shot a 3.90 for second place on Par 4 holes.
California Baptist will now head to Texas for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament that begins on April 20th.
