
The Lancers Finish The 2025-2026 Season in Texas

MCKINNEY, TX--- The California Baptist women's golf program completed its 2025-2026 season on Wednesday afternoon at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, finishing fourth of seven programs. Lisa Shimmon was the highest-finishing Lancer for Marc Machado, carding an eighth-place finish of 36 golfers.
The first round of the week saw Shimmon jump out to a strong start, carding a 74 through the first 18 holes. Senior Samantha Dizon shot a 78 during her first day, but was much more successful during Tuesday's round and tallied 2-over par. Pusanisa Ekkantrong led the Lancers during the second round after shooting 73 for the best individual round score of the week, while Shimmon ended with a 76. The final round of the week saw the same score for four of five Lancers, as Shimmon, Ekkantrong, Shuyi Cao, and Burberry Zhang all carded 3-over par.
As Shimmon finished in eighth, Dizon and Ekkantrong were close behind after tying for 12th with their 12-over total scores. Cao's conference tournament debut saw her end her first collegiate season in 21st, while Zhang and Kornchanok Triyakul combined for 35th.
Machado's team ranked second on Par 3 holes, while Dizon and Ekkantrong ranked third in total tournament pars at 36. Despite coming up short in Texas, CBU still enjoyed a successful final season in the WAC, totaling three top-five finishes as a program this year. Dizon ends her CBU career with the most counted rounds in program history at 103 and is one of the most decorated captains in CBU women's golf Division I history.
