ARLINGTON, TX--- The Western Athletic Conference announced the season awards for women's golf on Friday afternoon, naming three Lancers to the Second All-WAC Team and Shuyi Cao as Freshman of the Year.
Samantha Dizon, Pusanisa Ekkantrong, and Cao were all named to the All-WAC Second Team for their incredible efforts this season in a Lancer uniform. Senior and Team Captain Dizon led CBU to three top-five team finishes across the 2025-2026 season, with her best individual finish coming at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate after she finished in second place among 66 golfers. Dizon's time at CBU concludes with the most individual rounds counted in program history and a career average of 74.9. Ekkantrong's best finish of the season also came at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate after she carded a fourth-place finish, going on to tally three top-10 individual finishes this season.
Cao continued Marc Machado's tradition of strong freshmen entering the program and enjoying a fantastic debut season. Cao competed in eight tournaments this season and had a total of 19 rounds counted. Her best finish came at the Fresno State Classic after she secured seventh place individually and tallied 1-over par through 54 holes. This is the third season in a row that a California Baptist first-year golfer has been named Freshman of the Year. The legacy began in 2024 after Ekkantrong earned the title, and in 2025, Lisa Shimmon earned the honor.
