Stavros Charlampous Named to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders to Watch List

KANSAS CITY, MO --- United Soccer Coaches released the next list of players to watch for the 2026 season, with Division I midfielders revealed on Friday. Over 30 of the best midfielders in Division I men's soccer were listed, including California Baptist senior Stavros Charalampous.
The announcement of the positional players to watch list leads up to the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy watch list, which will be released on August 20. The Hermann Trophy is given annually to the top player in Division I soccer.
United Soccer Coaches will continue their players to watch list on Monday with the list of forwards to watch.
The 2025 season saw Charalampous earn First-Team All-WAC and WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The midfielder was part of a CBU team that won the WAC regular season championship while holding opponents to 1.24 goals per match.
Charlampous tallied 1,363 minutes across 16 matches (all starts) in the 2025 season. He scored a career-high four goals, including two in conference action.
The player to watch recognition marks the second consecutive season for Charalampus to be highlighted by United Soccer Coaches. He was also named a midfielder to watch before the 2025 season.
Charalampus was the only Pac-12 midfielder to be named to the 2026 list.
The Lancers will begin a new era with the 2026 season, as the men's soccer program transitions from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) to the Pac-12. CBU will play its first-ever Pac-12 match on September 30 when the Lancers visit Gonzaga in Spokane, WA.
CBU will open the season on August 20 with the first of two matches in Durham, NC. The Lancers will play Campbell on day one of the season before battling Duke on August 23. CBU will hold its home opener on August 31 with a 7 p.m. match against Denver.
