CAREER: A nine-time NAIA All-American ... Is one of 10 Lancer men ever to earn five or more individual All-American nods.
2007: Was fourth in the 500 free (4:41.76) and the 200 free (1:42.86) at the NAIA Championships.
2006: Scored a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:41.50) and finished third in the 500 free (4:44.29) at the NAIA Championships ... Also swam a leg for the NAIA Champion 800 free (6:55.32) and 400 free (3:05.57) relay teams.
2005: Earned five NAIA All-American honors, three individual and two relay, as a 2005 freshman ... Finished second in the 200 free (1:41.37), third in the 500 free (4:37.65) and third in the 1650 free (16:10.73) at the NAIA Championships ... Was part of the second-place 800 free and 400 free relay teams ... Set school-records in the 1000 free (9:49.87) and 1650 free (16:10.73) ... Also had the team’s fastest time in the 500 free (4:37.65).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from School of Champions in Kiokow, Poland, in 2003 ... Swam all four years.
OTHER: Born Sept. 24, 1984, in Gizycko, Poland to Jan and Dorota Budny ... Has two brothers ... Majoring in business ... Enjoys snowboarding, sailing, ice skating and spending time with friends ... Was a member of the Polish National Team from 1999-2003 and earned a pair of fifth place finishes at the Junior European Championships in the 400 and 1500 free.
