The Lancers have won 47 matches over the last four seasons with Wright on staff, including the shortened 2020 campaign. CBU has also had six players earned All-Western Athletic Conference honors in the last four years.
In 2023, the Lancers logged a 14-14 record that included the program's first-ever win over a PAC-12 opponent after they defeated Oregon State at home in five sets. CBU also recorded its longest winning streak of the DI era with eight straight wins in September and earned the second best non-conference finish since 2018. Freshman Opposite Hitter Nicole Mauser earned the WAC Freshman of the Year in 2023, becoming the first Lancer to win a major conference award since CBU joined the conference in 2018.
In 2022, CBU finished 12-14 with a 7-7 conference mark and participated in the WAC Tournament for the first time in their first year eligible.
At APU, Wright helped the Cougars to a 38-20 overall record, 27-13 in the PacWest in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. She oversaw APU’s hitters and played a key role in the development of Julianne Miller, who was named the PacWest Freshman of the Year in 2016.
Wright was an accomplished hitter in her own right and showcased her talents with the Lancers as a senior in 2014. She earned NCAA Division II All-American honorable mention from the AVCA and PacWest Newcomer and Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards after she tallied 376 kills, 306 digs, 47 blocks and 14 aces that season.
Prior to CBU, Wright spent the 2012-13 seasons at San Diego State and made her collegiate debut at the University of Hawai’i in 2010. She made the Western Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team with the Warriors and was named the Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year with the Aztecs in 2012.
Wright earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from San Diego State in 2013 and then maintained a 4.0 grade-point average while completing her Master's Degree in Disability Studies from CBU. Formerly Michelle Waber, she married her husband, Joshua Wright, in May of 2017.
