Matt Silberman

Matt Silberman returned to California Baptist University baseball in 2025 after previously coaching with the Lancers from in August 2021 to 2023. He spent the previous five years at Mt. San Antonio College where he worked with the pitchers and strength and conditioning program and prior to his recent return, Matt also spent time at Toldeo University as the pitching coach. With the Rockets, Matt helped lead the pitching staff to a record-breaking season with the Toledo baseball strikeout program record and led the MAC in regular season ERA. He also oversaw two All-Conference pitchers and saw one of his Toldeo pitchers signed by the Chicago White Sox.

During the 2025 season with the Lancers, Matt helped lead the CBU Pitching staff to another program strikeout record in a single season and consistently kept the Lancers as a top-three lowest ERA program in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Lancers went 36-20 and 18-12 for a runner-up finish in the Western Athletic Conference West Division in 2022, Silberman's first season. CBU's ace pitcher CJ Culpepper earned All-WAC Second Team honors on the year, as well.

In Silberman's time at Mt. SAC, the Mounties won back-to-back conference titles in 2018-19 and qualified for the state finals in 2018. Mt. SAC logged the sixth-best team ERA among all California Community College in 2020 and and the best team ERA among Southern California Community Colleges in 2021.

Silberman pitched collegiately at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa where he was an All-Region First Team Selection in 2016.  He helped lead his team to the NAIA World Series in 2015 and was part of the two most successful seasons in Vanguard history.

Silberman prepped at Vista Murrieta High and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Vanguard and his master's degree in Exercise Science and Coaching from Concordia University in Irvine.
