A-Z Facility Guide
Completed in 2007, the multi-million dollar Lancer Outdoor Athletic Complex is home to the California Baptist baseball and softball stadiums. The complex includes currently hosts the baseball, softball, and soccer facilities. The home of Lancer softball, John C. Funk Stadium, holds nearly 500 spectators, including seating behind home plate and along the third base line. The press box also includes state-of-the-art technology, and the instructional area includes a covered batting cage and bullpen.
The field was renovated in February 2022 beginning with the installation of a brand new video scoreboard in center field. The new technology allows CBU to show pregame hype videos, in-game fan engagement material, sponsor rotation before-during-and-post game, as well as provide live stat updates for players in the game and showing the line score, batting order, and current at-bat information in real time.
August 2022 saw the completion of brand new outfield Astroturf. The entire playable outfield and foul territory surrounding the playing area is covered in Astroturf that includes CBU's athletic logos and provides a consistent, low-maintenance playing surface while the infield remains a beautiful, classic true dirt infield.
Finally, in September 2024, the brand new Baseball and Softball Clubhouse project two-plus years in the works was completed, providing a central location for our Lancers teams and staffs to call home. Each team has a modern locker room easily accessible from their respective fields including personal lockers, showers, athletic training facilities, refueling stations, multiple televisions and custom lighting and signage in the first floor locker rooms. Upstairs, each coach has a private office that overlooks the playing field, many with direct access to viewing balconies that overlook the Funk and Totman Stadiums. The upper level also includes a shared team meeting space dubbed "The Cube" for it's obvious geometric shape when viewed from the outside, where either team and full fit inside to watch game film, go over scouting reports, or use for team study hall hours.
