COUGARS SWARM LANCERS

AZUSA, Calif. --- The NAIA's No. 2-ranked Azusa Pacific swept through all 3 doubles' matches and used that to propel its way to an 8-1 win over No. 25 California Baptist Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match.

The loss drops the Lancers to a 3-9 overall, while the Cougars improve to 12-1.

The Lancers were just inches away from carrying a 2-1 lead into singles' play. However, the Cougars were able to edge out a pair of 9-8 wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. Alessandro Ventre picked up the Lancers' lone point with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Patrick Kur at No. 1 singles.
