RIVERSIDE -- California Baptist University cross country and track Coach Adam Tribble announced the additions of Rikus van Niekerk and Roman Zozulya for the 2020 track season on Monday.

Van Niekerk is a 1,500 and 5,000-meter specialist from South Africa. He has run three sub-four minute 1500-meter races in his home country already this year, highlighted by a personal best time of three minutes, 55.62 seconds on Mach 16. He has also set a new best in the 5,000 this year, with a 14:50.59 just two weeks later.

Zozulia is a Ukrainian 5,000 and 10,000-meter runner who represented his home country in the Euro U20 Championships in 2019. Zozulia has personal best times of 14:38.52 in the 5K and 30:17.60 in the 10K.
"We are very excited to add both Rikus and Roman to the squad," coach Tribble said, "both are true long distance guys who should greatly bolster the young/talented group already on campus."
