ROCKLIN, Calif. --- After stubbing its toe with two straight losses, California Baptist rebounded Tuesday and got back on the winning track, knocking off William Jessup, 4-0, in the final game of its two-game swing through Northern California.
The win moves the Lancers to 3-2-1 overall, while the Warriors fall to 0-3-0.
Sophomore Christian Diaz had a goal and assist for the Lancers, scoring for the second straight game.
Cesar Nava got things started in the 14th minute when he scored on a free kick, however, William Jessup answered right back in the 15th minute to tie the game. The Warriors had just a pair of quality chances on goal. They scored one, and CBU keeper Adam Kramer saved the other.
With the scored tied 1-1 at intermission, the Lancers caught fire and responded with three second half goals. Freshman Tim Wardell broke the 1-1 tie with his second goal of the year in the 49th minute when he cleaned up a corner kick.
Diaz then scored the first of two goals in a three-minute span to close out the match. He scored off an assist from Chris Dierker in the 84th minute, and then in the 87th minute, he assisted on Anthony Mascari's first career goal.
