RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- The NAIA's No. 10-ranked California Baptist got its 2008 season off to a rousing start with a 9-0 sweep of La Sierra late Monday night in women's tennis action.
The Lancers move to 1-0 with the win. The NCAA Division III Golden Eagles fall to 0-2.
CBU, which is enjoying its highest ranking in program history, dropped just five games the entire match, coming within one point of sweeping through all three doubles at 8-0 in each of them. The Lancers then swept through the first four singles without dropping a game.
